Hausrotschwanz - Bird of the Year 2025

Each year in Germany a "Bird of the Year" is selected. In 2024, the title goes to the lapwing. It is unmistakable due to its feather plume and distinctive call. Lapwings prefer to live in moors, swamps and wet meadows and are endangered in Germany nowadays.

2025 is the Year of the Snake - we are welcoming the Snake to our HPC postcard family!

2026 is the Year of the Horse - we are welcoming the Horse to our HPC postcard family!

Winter can last long. Then, when the first snowdrops appear in the wintry garden and forest, it is like a promise that spring will come with the awakening of nature. When you ask people about favorite animals, many name penguins. We like them a lot too, admittedly! And are happy to have these two specimens from the large penguin family on board. They are Gentoo penguins and they are looking forward to being sent around the world.
