The Berlin Bear is a beloved symbol of the capital city. Golden and Silver Bears are awarded at the annual Berlin International Film Festival, the Berlinale. A beautiful special stamp was issued to mark the 75th anniversary in 2025. Two first-day stamps were designed – one featuring the front of a bear and the other the back! The Brocken is the highest peak in northern Germany. In March 2024, a stamp featuring the Brocken - and the Brocken Railway! - was issued in the special stamp series "Sights in Germany".
