We are delighted - the title of “Bird of the Year 2025” goes to the black redstart. This 13-15 centimeter tall, graceful songbird can be observed in Central Europe from March to November. Now in its 4th year, we are dedicating a postcard to Germany's bird of the year.

Each year in Germany a "Bird of the Year" is selected. In 2024, the title goes to the lapwing. It is unmistakable due to its feather plume and distinctive call. Lapwings prefer to live in moors, swamps and wet meadows and are endangered in Germany nowadays.
